Truly Heaven

Blue Heaven was a perfect home away from home for our family of 5. The living spaces were so comfortable, well-appointed, and well-supplied. The location – steps from the waves and also a short walk to town and harbor – was ideal. We couldn’t have been happier!

Blue heaven is the best location on the island. Ocean at you doorstep. The harbor and lighthouse directly on the other side. Excellent accommodations. Magnificent view from the upstairs bedroom. Pool well kept and everything you could want is there. Abaco Inn and Captain Jacks excellent dining. Reef bar at Hope Town Harbor Lodge has best conch fritters and daiquiris. Caretaker was always available when needed. Sea Horse boat rentals was perfect so you can island hop. Beautiful water and plenty of deserted beaches. Snorkeling is steps from your own beach. Hardly anyone there.

Fantastic trip to Elbow Cay

We have recently returned from a fantastic trip to Elbow Cay where we stayed at Blue Heaven. We were met by the property manager at the ferry dock and taken up to the property on a golf cart. The house is just as advertised and it is just a beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The beach is beautiful with white sand and a reef that is perfect for snorkeling right out front. In the 11 days we stayed at Blue Heaven we never saw more than a handful of people on the beach so it always felt like we almost had the beach to ourselves. While you are directly on the beach another nice thing is that you are also in the middle of Hopetown so it is a short walk to the coffee shop, restaurants and the small grocery stores.

The owner provided a helpful list of restaurant menus, and things to do.

We had a great time renting bikes (easy to get all the way around the island on bikes even with a 9 and 11 year old). We also rented a golf cart one day and spent the day at Tahiti Beach. We did a private boat charter with “Captain Plug” which was probably one of our best days. He took us to a deserted island to look for shells, our two boys caught a few fish that we ate that night and we also spent some time snorkeling at one of the national parks. Our best meal was at the FireFly Resort on White Sound (we called ahead and the picked us up with a golf cart).

One comment about Elbow Cay that I had seen anywhere before we left is that there are no bank machines on the island and the bank is only open on Tuesday for a few hours. US cash is interchangeable with the Bahamanian currency so I would definitely recommend bringing a fair bit of US cash with you although we found that we could use credit cards for almost anything.

Overall we would highly recommend Elbow Cay and can not think of a better place to stay than Blue Heaven.
